Understanding IEPs and Our Commitment to Individualized Support

An Individualized Education Program (IEP) is a legal document developed for children who qualify for special education services. It outlines a child’s specific learning needs, the services the school will provide, and how progress will be measured. The IEP is created collaboratively by a team that includes educators, therapists, and the child’s family, and it is reviewed annually to ensure the plan evolves with the child’s growth.

At Way Preceptory Academy, we recognize that no two learners are the same. For children with IEPs, we offer tailored accommodations to support access to learning in ways that respect each child’s strengths and challenges. Accommodations might include visual schedules, sensory breaks, modified classroom layouts, alternative communication methods, or one-on-one support—all designed to foster a sense of safety, confidence, and success
